U.S. Rep. Yvette D. Clarke Condemns the Attack Against U.S. Consulate in Benghazi

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representative Yvette D. Clarke released the following statement on the attack against the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya which killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.

“I join President Obama and Secretary Clinton in condemning the attack which claimed the lives of four innocent Americans,” said Representative Yvette D. Clarke. “We honor their service to our nation and acknowledge their bravery as they worked diligently to help the people of Libya establish a Democratic government.

“We cannot permit their sacrifice to be in vain. We must honor their lives with an abiding commitment and unyielding resolve to freedom and democracy here and throughout the world.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of these victims,” concluded Representative Clarke.
