Rep. Yvette D. Clarke Celebrates the Artistic Talent of Brooklyn Youth : Annual Congressional High School Art Contest

Today, Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke announced the award ceremony for the Annual Congressional High School Art Contest, to celebrate the hard work and artistic achievements of our students in Brooklyn New York.

“This year’s ceremony will take place on Friday, May 14th at 4:00PM at The Brooklyn Children’s Museum, an institute which just became the first L.E.E.D. certified museum in New York City, and the oldest continuing children’s museum in the world,” said Representative Clarke.

“An institution so steeped in history, and moving towards a progressive future for our children, where else could we look to host such an event?” Rep. Clarke stated.

“I must also thank the Brooklyn Arts Council for their involvement, and the responsibility of choosing a winner of this prestigious contest,” added Rep. Clarke. “The winning piece will be displayed as part of a National Exhibit in the U.S. Capitol.”

Representative Clarke concluded, “The hard work of these young people shows once again the necessity for arts education to provide an outlet and community for our youth.”
