Rep. Clarke to Host Congressional Dialogue on International Food Crisis & Haiti

U.S. Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke (NY), along with Congresswomen Sheila Jackson Lee (TX) and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (FL) will host a dialogue with other Members of Congress to highlight what Congress has done to address the international food crisis, the situation in Haiti, and long-term solutions to this problem

“Everyone across the globe is being affected by the rising cost of food but none as severely as the people of Haiti,” said Rep. Clarke.  “I am excited to work with my colleagues as we seek to bring this issue to the attention of the American public and develop solutions that will bring much needed relief.”

The discussion will occur during “Special Orders” on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, following the last vote of the day (estimated to begin at 8 or 9pm EST).  The dialogue will be televised on C-SPAN (check your local listings for special channel information).

Congresswoman Clarke represents New York’s 11th Congressional districted located in central Brooklyn.
