Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke released the following statement several reports of suspicious cargo plane packages being discovered along the east coast:

“I am working closely with TSA to monitor the situation regarding suspicious packages reported across the country. While there has been no reported damage or casualties thus far, this situation highlights the need for continued vigilance both nationally and internationally. I am very thankful for the immediate and thorough response by TSA and other law enforcement officials. Through this coordinated effort, I am confident the situation will remain under control. As a Member of the House Homeland Security Committee, I fully understand the severity of the situation. I will continue to monitor the situation to ensure the safety of my constituents, the Tri-State Area and our nation as a whole.”
