Today, the Senate cast a historic vote of 60 to 39 in favor of healthcare reform. Rep. Yvette D. Clarke released the following statement:

“I commend the Senate for casting their historic vote for healthcare reform. I look forward to reviewing the bill that the Senate passed. During negotiations, I will continue to fight for the public option in the final piece of legislation. I am committed to voting for legislation that makes healthcare affordable for the middle class, ensures healthcare security for our seniors, and holds the insurance companies accountable. I look forward to working with the Obama Administration, and my Congressional colleagues to send a final bill to the President’s desk.”
