I extend my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in today's devastating earthquake in Colombia. My prayers are with everyone affected by this tragedy as communities begin the difficult process of recovery.
My office will continue to closely monitor this developing situation, as many families in NY-09 have loved ones in Colombia who may be impacted.
I am also deeply grateful to the first responders and emergency personnel who are courageously leading search and rescue efforts under difficult and dangerous circumstances. We stand in solidarity with the people of Colombia during this time of profound loss.

Charlie Kirk’s horrific murder was a tragedy, and anyone who says otherwise has no place in public service.
However, I will not pretend to respect the harmful ideologies he proudly held, nor will I honor a man who built a career out of dishonoring Americans like me.
