U.S. Rep. Yvette D. Clarke Honors Legacy of Former Staffer, David Baldwin Barnes
BROOKLYN, NY –U.S. Representative Yvette D. Clarke issued a statement to express condolences to the family and friends of David Baldwin Barnes, a former staffer who was killed on February 18.
“I’m extremely saddened by the loss of such a promising star, Mr. David Baldwin Barnes. I had the honor of having him work in my Washington office. His passion for people and ability to navigate Capitol Hill illustrated that he was someone special from the start,” stated Representative Yvette D. Clarke.
David was a former press secretary of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, where he managed the public image of its Chairman, Representative Howard L. Berman (CA-4). He later founded GAIT, a personal brand development and management firm based in Washington, DC with offices in West Africa. His final venture was SOLVE, an agriculture research and development firm that creates market driven solutions for urban centers worldwide, for which he was a co-founder and managing partner.
“David’s ambition, entrepreneurial spirit, sense of style, and electrifying personality will truly be missed,” concluded Representative Clarke.
