U.S. Rep. Yvette D. Clarke Joins Assemblyman Camara, Google, Biz Owners for “New York Get Your Business Online” program

BROOKLYN, NY – Today, U.S. Representative Yvette D. Clarke joined New York State Assemblymember Karim Camara, Google executives, and several small business persons to announce the launch of “New York Get Your Business Online,” a week-long campaign by Google to assist small businesses with launching a website and provide training on how to market their services to potential customers.

“The cost of developing a website often deters small business owners from making the investment into a viable tool which has been proven to increase one’s visibility and revenue,” said Representative Clarke, a member of the House Small Business Committee. “In order to bolster our economy, we must strengthen our small businesses by providing access to necessary resources and technical support.”

An estimated 97 percent Americans are online, but only 53 percent of businesses in New York have a website. Several chambers of Commerce and the Association of Small Business Development Centers also joined in partnership to ensure the continued economic growth in our city and state.

“Our economy depends on small business owners who want to develop their companies and surrounding communities,” said Representative Clarke. “We know small businesses create the jobs that are the foundation of our communities.”
