U.S. Rep. Yvette D. Clarke Announces Appointment as Ranking Member of Small Business Subcommittee

U.S. Representative Yvette D. Clarke issued the following statement after her appointment as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Investigations, Oversight, and Regulations on Thursday.

The initial announcement was made by U.S. Representative Nydia Velázquez, the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Small Business.

“I would like to thank Ranking Member Velázquez for the opportunity to serve this Subcommittee in my new capacity as Ranking Member,” stated Representative Clarke. 

“Small businesses are the backbone of our nation’s economy. The success of communities across this nation depends on their ability to create jobs and expand their enterprise with access to grants, government contracts, and additional resources.

“I look forward to working with my colleagues on the House Committee on Small Business to support the participation of minorities, women, immigrants, and veterans in our economy,” concluded Representative Clarke. 

Representative Clarke is also a member of the Subcommittee on Contracting and Workforce.

She represents several neighborhoods in central and southern Brooklyn, NY which includes Brownsville, Crown Heights, East Flatbush, Flatbush, Gerritsen Beach, Madison, Midwood, Ocean Hill, parts of Park Slope and Flatlands, Prospect Heights, Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, Sheepshead Bay, and Windsor Terrace.
