In conjunction with the Congressional Black Caucus, Rep. Yvette D. Clarke (NY-11), is hosting a series of forum discussions at the Washington Convention Center.

Title:  Forum for Emerging Leaders

Developing policies and formulating plans that move emerging leaders closer to identifying and implementing meaningful solutions that have lasting positive impacts in Black communities and society at large.

Title:  Education Forum

This Braintrust will address major federal education policies on which Congress is currently working, as well as examine the impact of a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision on school integration.

Title:  U.S. Homeland Security & the Caribbean:  How Cooperation in the Region and Help Combat Terrorism

The panelists will discuss the need for greater cooperation with the Caribbean on Homeland Security, immigration, and fostering a symbiotic relationship that treats our neighbors in our hemisphere as partners to secure the region. Topics include third boarder initiative, container security initiative and megaports initiative.

Title:  Forum for Emerging Leaders – Unleash Our Power to Effect Positive Change:  A Strategic Leadership Training (featuring actress Kellie Shanygne Williams)

In 2008, Emerging Leaders will stand at the juncture of power and peril.  Young Black people in America have shaped world culture through our creative use of politics, media, and economic prosperity.
