Today, Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke released the following statement in recognition of Memorial Day:

“Today, we as a nation recognize all the brave men and women, who have sacrificed their lives to protect this country. We must never take for granted the special individuals who were willing to lay their lives on the line in order to defend the freedoms and liberties enjoyed by all Americans.

“While we honor those who have past, I encourage all of our citizens to remember those who are still serving over in Iraq, Afghanistan and all around the world. I look forward to the day when all our troops can return home. These brave individuals truly represent the best our nation has to offer and the courage they exemplify will never go unrecognized.”
