Washington, DC- Today, Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke released the following statement on the recent bombing that has taken place in central Jerusalem:

“This morning, the world was shocked to learn of the bombing at a bus station in central Jerusalem. It’s important to note that this is the city’s first bombing since 2004. 

“On behalf of the people of the 11th Congressional District of New York and myself, I’d like to express that our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those who were injured and killed as a result of this senseless bombing.  Attacks targeting innocent civilian populations are among the most abhorrent acts against humanity.  They are intended to terrorize and disrupt the lives of innocent Israelis and derail efforts in the search for a pathway to peace in the Middle East.  I join with my constituents in strongly condemning this heinous attack.”
