Rep. Yvette D. Clarke Condemns Terrorist Attack in Bulgaria

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Yvette D. Clarke released the following statement condemning a terrorist attack on a tour bus in Bulgaria which killed six innocent people and injured dozens on Wednesday July 18.

“On behalf of the people of the 11th Congressional district, I wish to offer our heartfelt condolences on this very tragic occasion,” said Representative Clarke. “I call upon all people of goodwill, all nationalities, creeds, and races to stand together against all forms of discrimination, hatred and bigotry.

“My prayers are with the families of the victims and the Nation of Israel during this time of sorrow. This incident was an act of terrorism that the community of nations cannot and must not tolerate. Local and international authorities must conduct an investigation to determine if additional individuals are responsible for this attack and are brought to justice.

“We cannot allow these violent attacks to create an atmosphere of discrimination based on nationality, race, or religion. As citizens of the world, we must work together to condemn terrorism,” Representative Clarke concluded.
