Today, Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke released the following statement in honor of the 31st Anniversary of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Independence.

“I am proud today to celebrate the 31st Anniversary of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Independence from the United Kingdom. This is truly an historic landmark that should be proudly celebrated by the people of St. Vincent and Grenadines.

“As the Representative of one of the most diverse districts in the United States, I have witnessed the great contributions this nation has given to the entire globe.

“We must take this time to recognize and appreciate the important role St. Vincent and the Grenadines has played within the Caribbean Community. As a daughter of the Caribbean, I know how important it is that we continue to strengthen our mutually beneficial relationship with all the Caribbean nations. Congratulations to St. Vincent and the Grenadines as they celebrate the 31st anniversary of their independence. I look forward to celebrating many more.”
