U.S. Representative Yvette D. Clarke (NY-11), was quoted in the USA Today Wednesday, November 07, 2007. Rep. Clarke was speaking on behalf of everyday people that find themselves mistakenly detained, or delayed by government officials at airports and border crossings “To leave individuals in this purgatory is un-American,” says Rep. Yvette Clarke, D-N.Y., who says she’ll introduce legislation to try to streamline the process.

 

Rep. Clarke is not just speaking to make headlines she is addressing the issue head on by introducing a bill that will create a one-stop-shop for most individuals seeking redress. The bill is scheduled to be released later in the week.
