Jamaican congresswoman hails 9/11 victims
Jamaican American congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke says the “sacrifice and heroic legacies” of victims of the 9/11 attacks “will forever be honoured and revered.”
Speaking to the Caribbean Media Corporation today, she said that the world will never forget the nearly 3,000 people killed in the terrorist attack, which include 343 fire-fighters and 23 police officers.
Ms Clarke, the daughter of Jamaican immigrants, represents the predominantly Caribbean 11th Congressional District in Brooklyn.
She encouraged Americans to use the day, which has been designated a National Day of Service, to volunteer in their communities. She also encouraged Americans to unite and share their strength and set examples for future generations.
