Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke Statement in Celebration of Chanukkah

Brooklyn, N.Y. – Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke released the following statement in celebration of Chanukkah, which starts on the evening of Wednesday, November 27, 2013:

“As families of Jewish faith gather to celebrate “the Festival of Light,” on behalf of the people of the Ninth Congressional District, I would like to wish the Jewish communities of Brooklyn a Happy Chanukkah. As we reflect on the significance of Chanukkah, let us remember to share our light with each other that together it will be shown throughout the world. Tonight, we affirm our belief that the good will always prevail over evil and that our light will always overcome the darkness. In commemoration of the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, we reinforce, strengthen and commit ourselves to the virtue of our traditions. Happy Chanukkah to one and all!”
