Brooklyn, N.Y. – Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke released the following statement on of the discovery of Gilad Shaar, Eyal Yifrah, and Naftali Fraenkel, Israeli teenagers who were abducted on June 12 and today were found to have been murdered.
“On behalf of the people of the 9th District of Brooklyn and myself, I’d like to express our condolences to the families of the dearly departed and the people of Israel in the senseless murder of Gilad Shaar, Eyal Yifrah, and Naftali Fraenkel. These three young students were teenagers who wanted only to return home after school. We cannot accept the acts of violence that ended their lives. I condemn this heinous act of murder against these teenagers and view this as an act of terrorism. I pledge to continue work with President Obama, Secretary of State Kerry and my colleagues in Congress to secure justice on behalf of the families of Gilad Shaar, Eyal Yifrah, and Naftali Fraenkel and continue to work toward a peace in which the children of all families can be safe from the threat of violence.”
