BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke (NY-09) released the following statement:
“Under the failed leadership of President Trump and his cabinet, constituents across New York’s Ninth Congressional District are experiencing the harmful impacts of this administration’s policies.
“Brooklyn is one of the world’s great cultural hubs, home to neighbors representing countless countries, cultures, and faiths,” said Rep. Clarke. “Yet communities across my district have been hit hard by this administration’s unconstitutional tariff policies, cruel and inhumane immigration actions, cuts to Department of Education programs and funding, restrictions on infrastructure investments in blue states, and the rising cost of living — from groceries and healthcare premiums to housing and energy costs.
“My constituents are hurting. They are scared, and many are struggling to maintain their households and pursue the American Dream amid rising costs and a lack of accountability from Washington.
“That is why I must listen directly to community concerns by meeting people where they are. I welcome neighbors from community boards across the district to participate and make their voices heard.
“I encourage NY-09 residents to follow me on social media @repyvetteclarke and my website, clarke.house.gov, as we will announce upcoming listening session dates.”
