Congresswoman Clarke Congratulates Incoming President of the Prospect Park Alliance

Brooklyn, N.Y. – Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke release the following statement to congratulate Sue Donoghue, who has been appointed President of the Prospect Park Alliance, the nonprofit organization that administers Prospect Park and the Parade Ground. She will start on October 6, 2014.

“Congratulations to Sue Donoghue on her appointment as President of the Prospect Park Alliance, which has since 1987 contributed to the renewal of this critical resource for the people of Brooklyn, under the distinguished leadership of Tupper Thomas and Emily Lloyd,” said Congresswoman Clarke, representative for the Ninth Congressional District of New York, which includes the entirety of Prospect Park.

“From my childhood, I have enjoyed the opportunity to visit Prospect Park. Today, more than ten million people – from every neighborhood in Brooklyn and every part of the world – visit Prospect Park each year to experience the wonders of nature in the most densely populated metropolitan area in the United States. I will work with Sue Donoghue to sustain Prospect Park for the generations that will follow us.”

U.S. Representative Yvette D. Clarke is a member of the House Committee on Small Business, Ethics, and Homeland Security, where she is the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection, and Security Technologies. She represents many neighborhoods in central and southern Brooklyn, NY which include Brownsville, Crown Heights, East Flatbush, Flatbush, Gerritsen Beach, Madison, Midwood, parts of Park Slope and Flatlands, Prospect Heights, Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, Sheepshead Bay, and Windsor Terrace.
