Washington, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke (NY-09) issued the following statement regarding her vote to condemn the drone and missile attack by Iran on Israel.

“Today, I voted alongside a bipartisan coalition of several hundred of my House colleagues to condemn the recent and unprecedented Iranian assault on Israel – a stunning escalation by the Islamic Republic that has not only undermined regional stability, but threatened countless communities caught in the path of their strike. While, thankfully, none of the 170 drones or 30 missiles launched by the Islamic Republic pierced Israeli territory, last weekend’s attack encapsulates the need to continue funding critical systems like the Iron Dome and aiding Israeli defenses with our nation’s military assets. The United States has a responsibility to stand with our ally by supporting Israel’s ability to protect its people and territory from wanton aggression, and I will always rise to ensure it has the resources and support necessary to do so.”
